Pomegranate — Poetry with bits in!

Rain Rain Rain

by and published in Edition Nine of Pomegranate

The day is new, gusty
and damp. Still, I can’t
help but want
rain rain rain

to wash it all away
again – a flash-flood
of arcing bird-song
back into the dark. I’d ride

a river of sleep, soaked
in the destruction, feel
pleasant and clean – hair
flat to the skin

with eyes closing. There
would be cars floating
and household objects
everywhere, and mud.
