Pomegranate — Poetry with bits in!

New Year

by and published in Edition Four of Pomegranate

Last time I was here
2008 cracked itself into a sky,
with five bottles still rattling
in my stomach I sat on the step
and conjured the night it turned;
your teeth shaving consonants to
tinder, you cradled a vowel in
your hands and carefully blew
“slut” into the air.
