Pomegranate — Poetry with bits in!

Ayuthaya

by and published in Edition Eleven of Pomegranate

In praise of the head
struck from its shoulders

In praise of it hitting

each temple step its ears its neck its mouth rubbling

In praise of the head
dodging hooves of horses

hearing the Aiiya! Aiiya!
of the burning houses.

In praise of the head
that waited, waited.
